For those of you who didn’t play the original game, you’re looking at a hybrid of defense and strategy that unfolds in real-time. You’re tasked with defending your fortress while simultaneously wrecking your opponent’s on the other side of the battlefield. It’s like a never-ending war, and it’s epic!

There might not be a deep storyline here, but who needs one when you’ve got lightning strikes at your disposal? The developers might be trying to tell us something profound about the human condition, or maybe they’re just saying, “Zapping your foes with lightning is awesome!”

The gameplay is surprisingly simple yet addictively fun. You spawn those units left and right by clicking on their icons up top, and they march toward the enemy base, ready to throw down. When your forces collide, it’s an all-out brawl. Defeated foes cough up gold and XP that you can use to beef up your defenses, recruit more troops, and level up your battle prowess. Oh, and each of those sweet upgrades catapults you forward in time, making your base and soldiers evolve in style.

But here’s the twist: your enemy ain’t just sitting around sipping tea. They’re upgrading too! And if they do it faster than you, you’ll be in hot water faster than a satyr outclassing an ancient avatar of Anubis. It’s like a history lesson told through a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors, with some fantastical creatures thrown in for good measure.

More epoch, more units, more fun!

The sequel has definitely upped its game, offering a more polished experience compared to its predecessor. There are now epochs and units representing some ancient civilizations, including Egypt and Persia, with all the elephants and Anubis warriors. Nice, eh? Watching your troops evolve and transform as you progress through the ages is seriously cool. And surprises await at every corner of history!

Age of War 2 is surely the kind of game that’ll keep you glued to your screen for hours on end. And while it lasts, it’s a blast!
